Rick has over 30 years of financial, accounting, sales and transaction experience in engineering, construction, oil & gas, oil field services, trucking, banking, and telecommunications industries. He has been a full-time CFO to privately held companies in the lower, mid and upper middle market segments.
Rick's experience as a CFO extends to nearly every aspect of a business's financial needs. He has helped companies forecast cash flow, restructure debt, renegotiate bank covenants, reduce receivables, reschedule payables, raise margins, develop key performance indicators, and improve month-end close procedures and efficiency. Rick has initiated and managed bank relationships, negotiated bank facilities, negotiated leases, and negotiated purchase and supply contracts. These experiences were acquired through rapid financial growth scenarios or successful turnarounds.
As a Certified B2B Exit®️ Advisor, Rick specializes in helping business owners determine how to successfully exit their businesses or grow their businesses by acquisition.
Rick has developed expertise in building and maintaining diverse professional relationships. He is particularly skilled in dealing with bankers and is also accomplished in building solid and effective relationships with attorneys, CPAs, insurance and real estate agents, and vendors.
Rick brings passion and enthusiasm to his job and the companies he serves. He is a straightforward and detailed communicator who is equally effective with boards, investors, management, and staff. Honesty, integrity, and enjoyment are core values that have led to success throughout his career.
Rick earned a B.A. in Business-Accounting from Hastings College, NE where he also played football. He also holds an M.S. in Finance from Colorado State University. Rick became a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in 1997 (inactive).
Rick and Kathy live in Littleton, Colorado and enjoy spending time with our two children and our granddaughter. Leisure activities focus on being outside as much as possible including golfing, hiking, mountain biking or just simply walking our Labrador Retriever.
