John Alden, Chief Sales Officer, Mountain States Sales

As Chief Sales Officer for
Mountain States Sales Solutions, John Alden works with small- and medium-sized
firms to help drive and improve their sales success – whether he’s serving as
their fractional VP of Sales or by providing consulting expertise on various
sales strategies and business processes.

 

Previously, Alden was the Vice
President of Sales for Avanti Computer Systems Ltd., a Toronto-based print
management software provider, where he led sales and business development
efforts worldwide for six years. In that role, he realigned and optimized the
sales organization, and he consistently grew revenue year over year –
ultimately leading to the company’s successful sale to Ricoh Corporation.  

 

Alden joined Avanti in 2014
after 17 years of selling technology products and solutions at Xerox
Corporation, home of one of the country’s most renowned sales training programs.
He directed regional sales of Xerox digital production color presses, including
the company’s flagship iGen line, and developed document and business solutions
in partnership with commercial print shops, in-plant print facilities, federal
government accounts and other clients across 14 U.S. states. In 2011, Xerox
recognized Alden’s team as the top global sales organization companywide.

 

Alden joined Xerox in 1996 as
a marketing representative in northern New Jersey and subsequently held
increasingly responsible Xerox sales and sales management positions across the
country including major accounts sales, DocuTech specialist, sales manager and
solutions manager. Among his assignments, Alden spent two years on the Xerox Federal
group’s management team in Washington, D.C., and spent two years as a Lean Six
Sigma Black Belt and business process manager for Xerox’s California-based
Western U.S. sales organization. Developing and driving strong business
processes and solid customer relationships has been a key to success throughout
his career.

 

A proud Colorado resident
since 2003, Alden lives in Denver with his wife, Kara, and rescue dog Koa. When
he is not working, he enjoys reading, hiking, sports, skiing, and watching live
music – inspiring a new passion of learning to play the guitar.
